When your body can’t find calm, everyday life can feel like too much.

Stress and anxiety may show up as racing thoughts, tension, or the sense that you’re always “on.” At times, it can spiral into overwhelm, leaving you drained and disconnected. These patterns aren’t just in your mind – they live in your nervous system and body. With the right support, you can unwind the cycle and rediscover balance.

Anxiety is not what’s happening in your head, but what your body is holding onto without a way to settle.

What are Stress and Anxiety?

Stress and anxiety are natural responses—but when they linger, they can disrupt sleep, concentration, and your ability to feel safe in your own body. Over time, the nervous system becomes stuck in patterns of hypervigilance or shutdown, leaving you more vulnerable to overwhelm.

They may arise from:

  • Persistent worry or chronic stressors

  • Overstimulation from work, relationships, or major life changes

  • Unresolved emotional tension held in the body

  • Coping strategies that once worked but no longer feel sustainable

Physical Signs Stress and Anxiety May Be Affecting You

  • Racing heart, shallow or constricted breathing

  • Jaw, neck, shoulder, or back tension; frequent headaches or migraines

  • Feeling on edge, irritable, or unable to concentrate

  • A sense of being stuck in distraction—scrolling, eating, numbing out

  • Difficulty pausing, sleeping, or feeling safe in your own body

  • Feeling that logic or talk therapy alone hasn’t fully helped

A Somatic Approach to Stress, Anxiety, and Overwhelm

Rather than relying only on thought-based strategies, this work engages your body’s sensations and nervous system directly. Through gentle body awareness, breath, and trauma-informed somatic techniques, we help you:

  • Tune into your physical sensations in a safe, supported way

  • Release chronic muscle tension rooted in stress and anxiety

  • Expand your capacity to breathe, feel grounded, and access calm

  • Rebuild a sense of safety, clarity, and resilience within your body

How We Work Together

Rebuilding calm, one step at a time.

Our sessions—offered both in-person and online—are tailored to your unique nervous system and paced by your inner readiness. We may weave together:

  • Somatic awareness practices for nervous system regulation

  • The Feldenkrais Method® to ease muscular constriction and support freedom of movement

  • Biodynamic Craniosacral or trauma-informed touch to help release deep-held tension

We begin with a conversation, build trust over time, and honor your boundaries throughout.
No need to relive the overwhelm to move past it.

The Results are Real

I began working with Susan after losing my spouse to lung cancer after 41 years together and the difficult time during her illness, prior to her death. I went to her in a profound state of exhaustion and grief. I most appreciate Susan’s ability to integrate her breadth of training and experience, each session and apply her skill and compassion to what I need. Her holistic approach allows me to heal and recalibrate my system, while experiencing a revival of vitality and stamina.
