session Overview

Our work together begins with an intake consultation. We’ll discuss your unique concerns and discomforts, then I’ll recommend therapies to achieve your desired outcomes. My therapies include The Feldenkrais Method®, Craniosacral Therapy, Havening Techniques® (a trauma-informed somatic technique), Therapeutic Massage, and Prenatal Massage, to teach the brain and nervous system, through therapeutic touch and gentle movement. As a 2nd year student of Somatic Experiencing®, I integrate trauma-informed practices through each session for the best results.

Many of my clients find relief after a single session, but you may benefit from a series of sessions depending on the level of discomfort you currently experience and how long you’ve been experiencing discomfort. If you’re recovering from an injury or surgery, want to increase your athletic performance, or you live with chronic stress, anxiety, or pain, consider a package of 10 sessions within a concentrated period to get started.

Expect to Feel

  • Tension and stress relief

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Eased and/or eliminated pain and muscle tension

  • Reduced fatigue, energized

  • Protection from injury

  • Better posture, balance, and flexibility

Prenatal Massage Therapy

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, constipation, indigestion, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). We utilize a comfortable, secure side-lying position. Mothers are completely supported by pillows, aligning the body so that blood and lymph circulation are maximized. Gentle Swedish, deep tissue in the gluteal area, range of motion and gentle stretching, abdominal massage, acupressure, reflexology techniques, as well as craniosacral therapy are integrated into the treatment. We add in Feldenkrais as needed, to help give relief for issues common to pregancy like sciatica, lower back pain, sore neck and shoulders, and jaw pain, to name a few.

Havening Technique

Havening is a psychosensory technique that calms the nervous system and can help you feel grounded, calm and peaceful.
Havening is a somatic modality that is designed to help overcome problems caused by traumatic or stressful encoding, and it uses touch and the senses as its main tools.

In a session, a client has the opportunity to release the intense feelings around a traumatic event like an automobile accident or even a relationship or work-related situation — anything that has been disruptive and you feel its influence on your life in some uncomfortable way. Read more about Havening here.
